UA “Mriya” is a Ukrainian Saturday School in Galway, Ireland, established in 2024. Classes take place every Saturday at Cumasú Centre, Doughiska Road, Galway.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a welcoming space where children from the Ukrainian community in Galway and the surrounding areas can learn, make friends, communicate freely in Ukrainian, and feel part of a vibrant Ukrainian community.
We want every child to stay connected to their roots, understand Ukrainian culture, traditions, and history, and grow up with pride in their identity while feeling confident both in Ukraine and abroad.
For us, the Ukrainian language is much more than a school subject—it is the language of friendship, creativity, communication, and shared memories. That is why we create an inspiring environment where children enjoy learning, developing new skills, and discovering Ukraine.
Verification by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine
Our school is officially verified by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and follows the Ukrainian Studies Curriculum for children living abroad. This means that our students’ learning achievements are officially recognised in Ukraine, allowing them to continue their Ukrainian education without losing connection to the national curriculum.
Our Learning Groups
Students are placed in groups primarily according to their age. However, we also consider each child’s individual level of knowledge and language proficiency, so placement may vary when appropriate.
- Class 1–2 ( 6-8 y.o)
- Class 3–4 (8-10 y.o)
- Class 5-6 (10-12 y.o.)
- Class 7 (12-14 y.o.)
- Ukrainian Language for Leaving Certificate – a specialised course for secondary school students preparing for the Irish Leaving Certificate examination in Ukrainian.

Throughout the year, we organise themed celebrations, creative workshops, concerts, theatre performances, cultural events, and community gatherings that make school life inspiring, engaging, and truly memorable.
